There are many Ministry opportunities at SICC. Here is a list of some of them.
 Financial ministry: Fundraising coordinator - someone who can raise funds for the church to meet its financial needs for specific projects, events or ministries. (ex: bake sales, auctions, etc.)
Building Maintenance: Kitchen duty - clean and put away dishes. wipe down countertops and tabletops. sweep and mop floor.
Bathroom cleanup - clean toilets and sinks in both bathrooms. sweep and mop floors. make sure there is ample supply of toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
Boiler room maintenance - make sure boiler room is organized. nothing can be on the ground near the boiler. refill it to desired level. 15 minutes first sunday of the month.
Supplies: Paper goods & supply monitor - keep an updated inventory of paper towels, napkins, plastic ware, plates & bowls. let the congregation know when there is need to re-supply.
Cleaning supplies monitor - keep updated inventory of cleaning supplies: floor cleaners, kitchen cleaners, dishwashing detergents, hand soaps, dusting materials, vacuum bags. let congregation know when low in supply.
Grounds Maintenance: Rear & Front entrance cleanup - clean rear entrance ramp & front of church entrance for cigarette butts, candy wrappers, leaves etc.
Snow removal teams - teams can rotate to clean snow or we can have new pastor do the job. lol(not)
Lawn mower teams - cut the grass and trim around trees and fences with a weed eater. teams can rotate to mow weekly.
Worship ministry team: Communion preparation - prepare the juice and the bread for communion. 20 minutes before sunday school every week.
Education ministry: Sunday school teacher - teach age-graded sunday school class at 10am on sundays. mininum of 13 sundays (one quarter), arrive at sunday school classroom 10 minutes before class and one hour to teach and two or more hours preparation.
Sunday school teacher assistant - work under the direction of a sunday school teacher to help him/her in whatever way needed. (Discipline, prepare materials, lead arts & crafts or game time, etc.)
Shepherding Team: Missing sheep follow-up - check the attendance book or file for those who missed church on sunday and call them by monday evening. Relay any pertinent information to the Pastor. (ex: sickness, etc.)
New Attender follow-up - check the attendance book or file for those who visit the church for the first time. call them by monday evening.
Usher - welcome people to church before the morning service. one person in the parking lot and another at the front door. Help and escort people find their way to a seat. And help with anything they might be carrying if they want the help. Always say "Good Morning" and smile. This time commitment is from 10:45 - 11:10 am. on sundays and during major events at the church.
Other ministries are as follows:
Travis Community Day: Evangelistic event held once a year.
Spring Guest Hospitality: plan meals and housing for Lincoln Christian College group the week before Easter.
Summer Guest Hospitality: plan meals and housing for Indiana group when they come for VBS (Vacation Bible School).
Travis 4th of July Parade coordinator: plan and organize the church's participation in the parade. enlist marchers. communicate our needs with the parade organizers. 10 hours every Summer.
If you feel like the Lord is leading you to take up a certain ministry, please feel free to speak to one of the church membership staff so that they can place you in that ministry to serve. And of course, pray about the ministry you choose to serve the Lord in...Amen
